Recent Personal Injury Judgment 12/12/2011 Fishbein & Fishbein, P.A. filed suit against the guilty party and on December 5, 2011, Ellicott City, attorney Jason C. Ridgell was successful in obtaining a judgment for the client in the amount of $268,896.77 plus punitive damages of $50,000.00.

In the early morning hours of March 12, 2010, a gentleman was involved in a somewhat routine automobile accident on Pratt Street in Baltimore City.  What immediately followed this accident, however, was anything but routine.  The at fault driver exited his vehicle and began beating the gentleman about the face and head.  Later that day, the gentleman was told by the physicians at the University of Maryland Medical Center that the right side of his jaw was broken and that he required surgery.

The first surgery rejoined the broken jaw bone using metal plates.  Subsequent to the first surgery, however, the jaw became severely infected.  The infection required a second surgery and the replacement the jaw bone with a metal rod.  The gentleman’s mouth was wired shut for six weeks.  His medical care cost more than $58,000.00 and he lost more than $10,000.00 in wages as a result.

Although the gentleman received a meager settlement from the at fault driver’s auto insurance carrier for damage resulting from the auto accident, the insurer would not cover the damages caused by the at fault driver’s assault of our client.  The gentlemen hired the attorneys at Fishbein & Fishbein, P.A. to help him recover the medical expenses and lost wages he incurred.  Fishbein & Fishbein, P.A. filed suit against the guilty party and on December 5, 2011, attorney Jason C. Ridgell was successful in obtaining a judgment for the client in the amount of $268,896.77 plus punitive damages of $50,000.00.
